    When I lived in Statesboro, Georgia, there was a Waffle House that was a three minute drive from my house. It was one of the very first places I went when I moved there. By the time I left Statesboro, I knew all of the night shift waitresses & cooks by name, and they all knew me.

    All I had to do was pull into the parking lot in my red Jeep, and there'd be a cup of coffee waiting for me in my favorite booth. And better yet, friends behind the counter. It wasn't just good service; it was sharing the same space so often, and sharing pieces of our lives with each other.

    Great post. I'm right there with you. I think that's why we clicked so well while I was in SF.
